Campus Location: Melbourne, Australia | Brisbane, Australia | North Sydney, Australia | Strathfield, Australia Job No: APTAV #017 Join the vibrant and research-intensive National School of Philosophy within ACU's large and dynamic Faculty of Theology and Philosophy Contribute to a growing coursework program that values the history and the present of philosophical thought ACU offers 17% employer superannuation, salary packaging and generous leave provisions Full time, continuing role based at one of the listed campus (by negotiation) About the Role Operating within National School of Philosophy, the Lecturer / Senior Lecturer (History of Ethics) provides high quality teaching in the School's philosophy program, undertakes quality research and publication in their area of philosophical expertise, and undertakes external engagement and internal service. The area of research specialisation is History of Ethics. Candidate applications are welcome from specialists in any era of the history of philosophical ethics. Responsibilities Contribute to curriculum development of undergraduate and/or post-graduate units in the School of Philosophy in a variety of modes ranging from face-to-face classes to synchronous and asynchronous online delivery. Teach across aspects of philosophical ethics with an historical perspective, and related areas of philosophical ethics and the history of philosophy, at least to an undergraduate level. Contribute to the supervision of Honours and Higher Degree (including PhD) students in areas of philosophical expertise. Conduct high-quality research and publish in the history of ethics with highly-ranked international journals and book publishers, and seek external funding for research projects. Undertake coursework administration and other School-based service efficiently and collegially. Engage in community and stakeholder engagement initiatives, as appropriate. Additionally, the successful candidate is to demonstrate a strong understanding of the University's Catholic Identity and Mission and how it applies to academic work by contributing to the integration of principles of social justice, the pursuit of truth and care for the common good in all areas of academic activity relevant to the Teaching and Research Academic Pathway. Total remuneration valued to $142,635 - $168,287 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $120,529 - $142,305 (pro rata) pa (Lecturer - Academic Level B), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading. Total remuneration valued to $178,482 - $193,772 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $151,018 - $164,087 (pro rata) pa (Senior Lecturer - Academic Level C), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading. 17% employer superannuation contributions to eligible continuing and fixed-term staff. Annual leave loading of an equivalent to 17.5% of four weeks' salary pro rata payable, dependent on your commencement date.
