We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Coding Auditor/Educator to join our team. This pivotal role plays an important part in the successful implementation of the NBMLHD Clinical Coding Quality Framework. The successful candidate will coordinate and conduct clinical coding audits and provide education to clinical coders, aiming to sustain improvements in clinical coding and ensuring that coding and DRG assignments accurately reflect admitted episodes of care. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide strong leadership in the development of high‑quality coding practices that optimise revenue under Activity Based Funding. By fostering a deeper understanding of accurate coding and DRG assignment, you will play a key role in enhancing the financial sustainability of our health services and making a meaningful impact on clinical coding quality and patient care outcomes. Demonstrated high level experience and competency with recent tertiary level clinical coding using ICD‑10‑AM and ACHI, thorough understanding of the Australian Coding Standards, Casemix, DRGs and Activity Based Funding/Management models. Experience in conducting, measuring, validating and sustaining coding quality improvement activities, including audits, audit tools, error correction, analysis, and presenting results. Experience in developing, designing, and delivering education and training programs related to clinical coding. Ability to extract data from source systems and data warehouses, implement and use coding audit tools to review, trend, analyse, benchmark, evaluate coding quality, and report on these activities. High level interpersonal, communication, prioritisation and organisational skills to communicate with confidence at all levels and manage a high workload to meet productivity targets and strict deadlines. Ability to work under pressure and adapt to an ever‑changing environment using excellent organisation and time‑management skills. Highly developed communication and leadership skills with excellent presentation abilities to communicate coding quality and audit results to key stakeholders.
