Music Therapist

Provide clinical music therapy services to children and adolescents at The Royal Children’s Hospital, supporting their hospital experience through targeted therapy. Your Role Key responsibilities include: Deliver excellent music therapy services to children and families with complex needs across various specialty areas. Work within the Child Life Therapy and Music Therapy department as part of a multidisciplinary team. Collaborate closely with music therapy staff, medical, nursing, and allied health professionals. Support patients using music therapy to assist with treatment, mental health, and neurodevelopment. Contribute to continuous improvement and maintain high standards of service delivery. About You What you'll need: Excellent music skills. Current Registered Music Therapist (RMT) status with the Australian Music Therapy Association, MT-BC, or equivalent. Thorough knowledge of music therapy for infants, children, and young people, including neurodevelopment and mental health needs. Effective communication skills to maintain interdisciplinary team dynamics. Ability to work in a family‑centred way, prioritising the best interests of children and families. Current National Criminal Record Check or willingness to obtain. Valid Working with Children Check. Compliance with RCH’s Staff Immunisation requirements. Compensation & Benefits Classification GA3 with a base salary of $70,590 per annum pro rata, plus superannuation and salary packaging. Salary packaging to increase take‑home pay.
