Your proactive mindset and strong communication skills ensure that all stakeholders are informed and engaged in maintaining a culture of safety and preparedness.**This is a contingent position based upon contract award*****What You'll Do*** **In the role of** **Fire Protection O&M Technician****, your duties will include:*** Install, repair, and inspect smoke and fire suppression systems.* Inspect, test and repair fire alarm wiring, fire alarm panels and peripheral equipment.* Identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.* Inspect, repair or replace smoke/heat detectors and sprinkler heads.* Repair and test wet/dry systems; test fire alarm system devices using appropriate diagnostic programs and test equipment.* Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes.* Read, interpret, and apply system design plans and building construction drawings and documents.* Perform true test smoke detector sensitivity procedure.* Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is required.* Performs all other duties as assigned.**Requirements:*** Must be a US or Australian citizen* Must have a minimum of five years of experience working with fire protection equipment and systems* Must possess NICET II or NICET III* Must possess and maintain qualifications in accordance with US DoD Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), or Australian equivalent acceptable to the USG**Desired Qualifications:*** BA/BS from an accredited institution* Ability to obtain a TS/SCI w/Poly or Australian PV clearanceThis role will be located in Alice Springs, at a 4,400-acre facility with approximately 687,000 square feet of mission and support space. *This position is expected to be onsite 100%.* #SFBelong, Connect and Grow at KBR At KBR, we are passionate about our people and our Zero Harm culture.
