Senior Research Fellow (National Centre for Clinical Research on Emerging Drugs)UNSW Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia Overview The National Centre for Clinical Research on Emerging Drugs (NCCRED) is a national research centre for methamphetamine and emerging drugs of concern that embeds research in clinical practice. It aims to support clinicians to detect and respond to new drug health problems by building clinical research capacity and rapidly translating findings into clinical practice. Responsibilities Lead and develop research and translational outputs within NCCRED and the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre (NDARC). Undertake independent research in clinical, community or digital interventions with a focus on methamphetamine and emerging drugs. Collaborate across disciplines, lead a small team (1–4 direct reports), and build effective relationships. Qualifications and Skills A PhD in medicine, public health, or related field, and / or relevant work experience. Proven commitment to staying up to date with discipline knowledge and developments. Demonstrated track record in high‑quality, impactful research with leadership potential. Demonstrated ability to work in a team and collaborate across disciplines. Highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills. Employment Details Employment Type: Full‑time (35 hours per week) Duration: Fixed Term until 30 June (possible extension, funding dependent) Remuneration: $155K – $178K base, dependent on experience (+ 17% Superannuation and leave loading) Work rights: Visa sponsorship is not available. Candidates must have full rights to work in Australia. Location: Health Translation Hub, Randwick, NSW Why this role matters The Senior Research Fellow is a leadership role at NCCRED within NDARC and will develop and lead research and translational outputs. The Fellow will undertake independent research in clinical, community or digital interventions with a focus on methamphetamine and emerging drugs. The position reports to the Director of NCCRED and has 1–4 direct reports.
