About The Role As our next Light Vehicle Leading Hand, you will proudly represent our Maintenance Team on a 14/7 roster. You will live for challenges and thrive on the variety of work available. In this role, you will: Work a 14/7 roster, 7 days and 7 nights, 12‑hour shifts Supervise a team of LV Fitters, ensuring the swift resolution of planned and unplanned machine breakdowns and minimizing downtime Perform servicing, repair and maintenance of mobile fleet and other equipment in accordance with Thiess servicing, lubrication and maintenance systems documentation Manage procurement of parts for repairs, ensuring timely availability of correct parts to avoid unnecessary delays Mentor team members, provide on‑the‑job training and support them with troubleshooting, analysis and repair strategies Complete general maintenance, breakdowns, services and component change‑outs to a high standard Source technical information from the relevant available reference manuals, technical bulletins, OEM and computer‑based systems Maintain good housekeeping standards at all times Provide technical information to staff and operations personnel Conduct technical inspections and job estimations About You Automotive Trade (Light Vehicle Mechanical) or relevant equivalent Previous Leading Hand experience in a maintenance role Post‑trade experience working in the Mining or Heavy Earth Moving industry JDE and INFOMINE experience is highly regarded for work order management and maintenance tracking Experience in Vehicle Air Conditioning systems desired Experience in general maintenance, breakdowns, component change‑outs and servicing of Toyota vehicles Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment A proactive approach to safety, ensuring all activities are performed with minimal risk A high regard for and practice of health and safety at all times What Thiess Can Do For You Permanent full‑time positions Full camp facilities provided Thiess’ commitment to training & development Salary sacrifice options – flights & novated leasing Range of corporate discounts including health insurance (Medibank), travel & retail products Referral bonus programme About Us At Thiess, we partner with our clients to deliver excellence in open cut and underground mining in Australia, Asia and the Americas.
