About the role Basketball WA is seeking an experienced, hands on and people focused Head of Stadium to join our team. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and performance of Basketball WA’s stadium operations. This is a full time 12-month fixed term contract role. You will lead stadium staff, oversee venue operations and presentation, manage relationships with VenuesWest and key user groups, and ensure the stadium operates safely, efficiently and in line with organisational priorities. The role plays a key part in supporting basketball delivery while enabling appropriate commercial and community use of the facility. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage all stadium staff, including recruitment, induction, rostering, performance management and WHS compliance. Oversee day-to-day stadium operations, ensuring facilities are safe, clean, well maintained and presented to a high standard. Coordinate cleaning, maintenance and facility management in partnership with VenuesWest and contracted service providers. Manage court bookings and venue scheduling in line with Basketball WA’s priority framework, maximising utilisation across competitions, training, events and venue hire. Ensure the delivery of high-quality customer service to all user groups, including clubs, schools, associations and community stakeholders. Support sound financial management of stadium operations, including payroll oversight, reporting and input into business planning. Maintain strong working relationships with VenuesWest, local schools, clubs, user groups and local government. Ensure compliance with Basketball WA policies, legal obligations, risk management and safeguarding requirements. Provide regular operational, usage and performance reporting to the Chief Operating Officer. The ideal candidate is an experienced venue or facility leader with a strong operational background and a practical, people-centred approach. You are confident managing staff, contractors and stakeholders, and take pride in delivering safe, well-run facilities and positive customer experiences. Experience in sport, community facilities or membership-based organisations will be highly regarded.
