Randstad is currently working with a Queensland Government Department to find a Cyber Security Technical Specialist on an initial contract until 30 June 2026 (with possibility of extension to 2027). This role is based in Brisbane city with WFH flexibility. Contract Length: until 30 June 2026 (with possibility of extension to 2027) Rates: Open Market Rates Location: Brisbane CBD with WFH flexibility Overview This Queensland Government Department is currently undertaking a three‑year Cyber Security uplift program. This Cyber Security Technical Specialist will be joining a small project team of 2, and working alongside an operational team of 6. Ideal Candidate A sound understanding of TCP/IP and networking concepts. Understanding of Cyber security frameworks; ASD Essential 8, IS18, ISO27001. Understanding of global Cyber Security trends, attack vectors and techniques. Experience with Cloud infrastructure and operational tasks; including AWS and Azure. Experience with Infrastructure as Code via tools such as Terraform, GitLab, Ansible or equivalent. Experience with vulnerability management products and strategies. Experience with application whitelisting/management products and techniques. Experience with security management products, endpoint and perimeter (e.g. Proofpoint, Carbon Black, Defender, Sentinel, Splunk, Palo Alto, F5). In particular, experience with Microsoft Sentinel—developing, tuning, and managing analytics rules, workbooks, playbooks, and data connectors.
