Senior Network Security Technician

The Senior Network Security Technician will be required to perform and/or have responsibility for duties including, but not limited to: Directly contribute to the design, build, deployment and transition of cyber security solutions aligned with recognized best practice, Defence security policies, principles and frameworks. Work with internal and external technical teams to ensure integration and operation of cyber security tools with all ICT services in the ICT stack. Conduct set-to-work activities and support remediation of cyber toolsets on Minerva systems. Author, review, maintain and contribute to Solution Designs, Standard Operating Procedures, As-Built-As-Configured and other required documentation artefacts. Can autonomously perform highly complex work with internal and external stakeholders, can communicate complex technical issues effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, able to assess and provide risk mitigations to complex problems and the implications of new technologies. Required skills and experience Experience working in Defence as a Senior Network Security Technician Demonstrated experience and knowledge in applying cyber-security controlsand practices aligned to zero-trust architecture principles. Strong knowledge and experience deploying and integrating Fortinet products including FortiManager, FortiGate, FortiNAC, FortiAnalyzer. Strong knowledge and experience deploying and integrating Ansible automation for Fortinet products. Strong knowledge and experience deploying and integrating FortiSandbox and multi-factor authentication products including FortiAuthenticator. Strong knowledge of Nutanix, VMWare and Elastic. Ability to work independently and part of a team, lead integrated technical teams, good communication, organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Desirable skills and experience Knowledge and experience of the Defence ICT systems. Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, Powershell. Experience with Australian Defence Force deployed environments/platforms and the unique networking, support and security constraints.
