As a Compliance Officer, you’ll investigate compliance issues related to illegal dams and water control structures, as well as other issues such as soil and pest management to ensure adherence to the Landscape South Australia Act 2019 and associated water allocation plans. As a Compliance Officer You Will Ensure effective compliance across the Hills and Fleurieu region, investigating breaches in relation to the Landscape South Australia Act 2019. Provide expert support in investigations and prosecutions through accurate reporting and expert witness representation. Educate and advise stakeholders on compliance with South Australian and Commonwealth natural resource legislation. Drive continuous improvement by developing and refining agency compliance policies and processes. Build and maintain strategic partnerships with government bodies, councils, and public land managers, promoting the Board’s mission through collaborative projects and outreach initiatives. About You Skilled in compliance and investigation: You bring expertise in investigative techniques, evidence handling, and court testimony. Proficient in legislative interpretation: You understand and apply current laws, seeking technical insights as needed. Data‑savvy for effective reporting: You excel in gathering, analysing, and reporting data for compliance monitoring. Collaborative and empathetic communicator: You actively listen, value feedback, and manage conflict with diplomacy. Technically proficient: Experienced in MS Office and GIS, supporting accurate reporting and data management. The details One full‑time (37.5 hrs per week), ASO5 Compliance Officer Position. Term position to 30 June 2028 available immediately. Located in Mount Barker, South Australia Requirements National Police Check Current class “C” driver’s licence and willingness to drive essential. Australian residency or a current work permit. Remuneration ASO5: $85,790 - $95,413 per annum.
