Start Date: 5 January 2026Location: 95 Womma Road, Edinburgh North SAEmployment Type: Contractor / Casual (Competitive Rates)Hours: 10-hour days | Afternoon Shift Available 3pm start Project Duration: 12 Months About the Role Century Engineering is seeking an experienced Welding Supervisor to oversee the refurbishment of Class 1 critical mining equipment for BHP . Based at our Edinburgh North workshop , this role involves managing complex fabrication and pressure‑vessel welding work with 100% weld traceability , Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) coordination , and regular communication with customer representatives . Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate welding and fabrication operations across day and/or afternoon shifts. Lead and support a team of qualified welders and boilermakers on a Class 1 pressure‑vessel refurbishment project . Ensure all work is carried out to relevant Australian Standards (AS 1210 , AS 4041 , AS 4458 , AS 4037 ). Manage NDT coordination , including inspection scheduling and documentation. Maintain complete weld traceability and quality records. Liaise with BHP and other customer representatives to ensure compliance, transparency, and alignment with technical requirements. Drive safety, quality, and continuous improvement in all workshop activities. Skills & Experience AS 1796 Welding Supervisor certification (essential). 5–7 years’ experience in welding supervision within heavy fabrication or pressure‑vessel environments. Proven experience in NDT coordination and QA documentation . Strong understanding of BHP Specifications and S‑Specs (preferred). Experience with duplex and stainless steel , and dissimilar metals (preferred). Proficient in Microsoft Office with meticulous record‑keeping and documentation control. In‑depth knowledge of AS 1210, AS 4041, AS 4458, AS 4037 standards. Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to manage and motivate teams across multiple shifts.
