The service is divided into 6 clinical `units' each operating integrated inpatient and community services. The Units comprise Early in Life Mental Health Service, Young Person's Mental Health Service, Casey Adult, Dandenong Adult, Monash (Clayton) Adult, and Aged Mental Health Services. This position is the Unit Director (Clinical Director) responsible for adult services in the Dandenong area, comprising inpatient, community, and community residential and rehabilitation services.Monash prides itself in running a large and high quality training program in psychiatry, as well as clinical training placements for psychology, allied health and mental health nursing. Monash Health is ready to participate in what is going to be a transformational improvement in the way we run mental health services in Victoria.About the RoleReporting to the Service Director, Adult and Older Adult, the position has responsibility for the effective management and leadership of the General Adult Psychiatry Unit at Dandenong and, together with the other Unit Directors, Service Directors and Program Director, for clinical governance within the Mental Health Program such that the provision of services across Monash Health is consistent with our Strategic and Clinical Services plans.As a member of the Monash Health Senior Management Team the appointee will provide leadership in achieving and upholding Monash Health's Vision, Purpose and Values.This position provides the clinical, professional and academic leadership to General Adult Psychiatry required to make Monash Health a learning institution and to deliver excellent clinical care to patients.
