The Role The Summerland Farm Maintenance Leading Hand is responsible for ensuring the upkeep of equipment, assets, infrastructure, and minor building projects that support the farm’s diverse operations, including farming, production, retail, events, and tourism. The role involves tasks such as welding, fabrication, repairs, and general maintenance to maintain safe, efficient, and reliable operations. By applying technical expertise and fostering a collaborative team environment, this position helps deliver high‑quality outcomes while supporting meaningful employment opportunities for people with disabilities. What You Need To Be Successful Trade qualification relevant to maintenance (e.g., Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication, Mechanical Fitting, Welding, or related field). Demonstrated experience in equipment, machinery, and infrastructure maintenance across agricultural, manufacturing, tourism, or commercial settings. Experience working safely with tools, machinery, and plant systems. Experience in a multi‑business environment with competing operational priorities. Skills And Experience That Will Make You Stand Out Strong welding, fabrication, machining, or mechanical repair skills. Ability to diagnose faults and complete high‑quality repairs.
