Director, Governance and Risk, Commission of Inquiry into the CFMEU and Misconduct in the Construction Industry Step into a high-profile leadership role at the heart of a significant public inquiry examining misconduct in Queensland's construction industry. This is your opportunity to lead governance and risk management for an independent Commission of Inquiry that will shape the future of construction, housing, and major infrastructure projects across Queensland. What you'll do Lead and manage a dedicated team, ensuring sustainable delivery of priorities in a time-constrained, high-demand environment. Develop and embed governance and risk management practices across a large multi-disciplinary team, aligned with legislative requirements and delegated authority. Provide strategic advice to the Secretary, Chief Operating Officer and senior leaders on governance, risk obligations and compliance matters. Apply integrated program and project management frameworks to support best‑practice delivery of Inquiry outcomes. Guide the preparation and conduct of public and private hearings, ensuring quality, compliance and lawfulness across all activities. Navigate complex stakeholder relationships across the Inquiry team, Department of Justice, and external partners. Ensure compliance with governance, record keeping and public sector integrity requirements. Who you are You're an experienced leader who thrives under pressure and excels at building governance frameworks in complex, scrutinised environments. You're strategic yet practical, able to lead with empathy while maintaining high standards of integrity and compliance. You'll bring Demonstrated leadership experience in high-demand, fast-paced, scrutinised environments. Comprehensive understanding of public administration policies, governance and risk management. Expert stakeholder management and relationship-building skills across complex multi-disciplinary teams. Proven ability to reprioritise quickly and deliver within tight timeframes without compromising quality. Strong commitment to ethical standards, public sector integrity and creating psychologically safe workplaces. $166,623 - $174,339 per annum + 17.5% leave loading + 12.75% employer superannuation. Full-time flexible role with hybrid work options.
