Child Protection Caseworker – Mid North Coast Department: Northern CPPYJ. Locations: Coffs Harbour, Kempsey, Taree, Taree, and Port Macquarie at regional NSW. DCJ focuses on keeping families together with safety, welfare and wellbeing of children and young people as the highest priority. In this role you will respond to reports about safety concerns and engage families and agencies to protect children. What you’ll do Work sensitively and respectfully with parents, family members, children and young people. Collaborate with other agencies and apply complex problem‐solving skills. Assist families in formulating goals that align with their needs, addressing safety and well‑being concerns and delivering appropriate assistance through home visits. Develop safety plans and complete risk assessments. Manage cases and situations, including working with high‑needs and high‑risk clients and their families. Participate in court processes, including preparation of court documents and attendance at court. Participate in individual and group supervision. What we’re looking for To be a Child Protection Caseworker you need to be confident, curious and resilient. The essential requirements include: Completed or in final semester of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Social Science and Welfare, with practical experience. (Final semester candidates will commence only after completing the degree.) Other related degrees considered, provided you demonstrate knowledge, skills and experience working with vulnerable children, young people and families. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to build positive working relationships. A valid driver’s licence (P1 or above). A paid working‑with‑children clearance number.
