You're an experienced Financial Accountant, confident in your role, and everything in your remit runs smoothly. That is your job, right? But are you challenged? You’ll lead financial reporting, compliance, treasury management, investment portfolios, and long‑term financial planning, ensuring financial integrity and best‑practice operations. Beyond the technical responsibilities, this role offers a rare chance to gain exposure to high‑level decision‑making, develop leadership skills, and make a real impact on the financial sustainability of a significant public organisation. You’ll build and maintain strong relationships across all levels of the organisation, and lead, develop and mentor a dedicated finance team to achieve section and organisational goals. You will also oversee the maintenance and enhancement of financial systems and controls to ensure compliance with legislation, grant acquittals, benchmarking, and tax obligations, and play a key role in shaping Council’s long‑term financial future. The CFO is hiring for a financial professional with experience in financial and statutory reporting. Exposure to local government or a complex regulatory environment will be welcomed, and you have CPA or CA qualification (or be working towards it), strong analytical skills, and a desire to influence financial strategy and governance.
