About the team Our Housing Operations Team is the frontline of YWCA Australia and YWCA Housing, playing a key role in supporting residents and sustaining tenancies. Through efficient administration and proactive engagement, the team helps ensure residents maintain stable, secure housing. About the role As a Community Housing Officer, you’ll play a key role in maintaining tenancy systems, supporting residents through regular visits and advice, and managing tenancy and maintenance issues in line with the Residential Tenancies Act—all within a collaborative team environment. In this role, you will: Work across a broad housing portfolio, supporting vulnerable women and gender diverse people through tenancy management, maintenance coordination, and resident engagement. Conduct regular home visits, mediate housing issues, assist potential residents, and support property maintenance Represent YWCA at tribunal hearings and provide residents with access to policy guidance and referrals to external support services. Work closely with asset management and housing teams to deliver high-quality housing outcomes. Manage specialised Rooming Houses, whilst ensuring compliance with tenancy legislation. About you As the ideal applicant will have: Experience in community housing or property management, with knowledge of tenancy practices, RTA legislation, maintenance coordination, and administrative processes. Strong understanding of the relevant state Residential Tenancies Act. Ability to engage respectfully with diverse communities, with awareness of homelessness issues. Proficiency in tenancy data systems (e.g. Zavanti, Excel) and Microsoft Office. Well-developed communication, mediation, and conflict resolution skills, with strong organisational abilities.
