Threatened Species Operations The Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation’s Threatened Species Operations team leads the state-wide program dedicated to the protection and recovery of Queensland’s threatened species. As a Senior Project Officer you will use your ecological expertise and understanding of pest management practices to design and lead projects aimed at improving our understanding of the impacts of key threats (pests) on threatened species. You will work together with QPWS rangers and other land managers to implement effective conservation and recovery strategies across South-west Queensland. Responsibilities Work in partnership with QPWS Rangers, the State Technical Services Pest Management team, and other land managers to deliver high-impact conservation outcomes. Apply your knowledge of pest and threatened species ecology to develop projects to address threatened species management challenges. Lead project planning, implementation, and evaluation, demonstrating strong leadership and contributing to a respectful, inclusive workplace culture. Collaboration Collaboration is central to your success in this role. You will engage with a broad range of stakeholders, including regional partners and First Nations communities.
