Overview Suncoast Christian College is a well‑established pre‑prep to Year 12 co‑educational college of over 1,000 students, situated on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. The College is excited to announce a term‑time opportunity for an experienced Secondary Teacher Assistant. The role will commence 28 January 2026 and can be offered on a 5‑day a week basis or as two part‑time roles. This is a varied and busy role, assisting teaching staff with tasks associated with classroom duties and learning activities. The role requires someone with strong academic support skills, particularly across Years 7 and 8. Duties and responsibilities Supporting differentiation, adjustments and modifications generated by teachers to meet the learning, social, emotional, physical and behavioural needs of students with special needs, students with disabilities, those requiring learning support and gifted students. Supporting Year 7 & 8 students across all subject areas. Recording anecdotal notes regarding students with IEPs or other students as directed by the teacher/Learning Support Coordinator. Working with students individually and within groups to reinforce subject content and help build confidence. Assisting teachers in preparing learning materials and classroom activities. Contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment. Understanding the ability and nature of students and teachers and other assistants to interact in a professional manner. Participating in a duty roster. Attending to any First Aid matters. Skills and experience required Sound experience in a Secondary Teacher Assistant role. Experience supporting students in Year 7 & 8. Highly organised with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Patient, adaptable and passionate about helping young people succeed. Ability to handle highly confidential information with sensitivity and discretion. Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
