It provides a wide range of general and specialist services, including: Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, General Surgery, and Obstetrics & Gynaecology Paediatrics, High Dependency and Coronary Care, and Palliative Care Mental Health, Alcohol and Drug Services, Allied Health, and Community Outreach A new Emergency Department opened in 2020, enhancing 24/7 acute care delivery. As a Consultant Physician, you will provide high‑quality inpatient and outpatient care to the region, supported by a skilled multidisciplinary team. This role offers excellent professional variety, including clinical leadership, teaching, and outreach opportunities. Key responsibilities Providing clinical leadership and supervision to trainees, residents, and medical students. Delivering inpatient and outpatient general medicine services and contributing to the 24/7 on‑call roster. Supporting the Hospital in the Home (HITH) service and contributing to the hospital’s integrated care pathways. Participating in quality improvement, safety, and clinical governance initiatives. Engaging in teaching, research, and continuous professional development. Requirements Hold Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or an equivalent overseas specialist qualification (CCT UK, CSCST –Ireland, ABIM – USA, RCPSC – Canada, Vocational Registration – NZ) Be eligible for specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) The Location Located on Queensland’s stunning Capricorn Coast, Gladstone offers a relaxed coastal lifestyle with easy access to the Southern Great Barrier Reef.
