As part of the Sentra Group, we’re growing our automation capability and are seeking an Automation Engineer with 3+ years’ experience to join our Melbourne team. The Opportunity In this role, you will: Design, develop and commission PLC and SCADA systems. Assist with project planning, documentation, testing and integration. Collaborate with a highly skilled team across project design, integration and delivery. Contribute to client solutions that improve efficiency and safety. Participate in ongoing learning and development opportunities. About You We’re looking for someone with: 2–3+ years’ experience in an automation or control systems engineering role. A Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation or similar). Experience working in a project environment for a Systems Integrator, OEM or End User. Excellent communication, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with various platforms across PLC, SCADA, motion control, robotics, or industrial networks. Experience with PLC/SCADA programming or commissioning. Familiarity with major platforms (Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, Schneider). Strong problem‑solving and communication skills. A strong commitment to safety, quality and teamwork. Experience with Ignition (Inductive Automation) highly regarded. Why Join GPS?
