Xanadu Wines is a family-owned business, situated in the heart of the Margret River wine region in Western Australia. Established in 1977, Xanadu is part of the Rathbone Wine Group with a focus on producing premium quality wines of distinction, operating over 60 hectares of vineyards and a 2,500-tonne capacity winery. Role An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic person to join our team in a Junior Winemaking position. This integral role is a full-time permanent position, reporting to the Senior Winemakers. The successful applicant will assist in managing all elements of the winemaking process with guidance from the Senior Winemakers. Job requirements Assist with the coordination of all daily winemaking duties, including contract winemaking services. This will require good communication skills and organisational ability, with a strong hands‑on approach as required. Flexibility to work extra time and weekends, as required, during peak times of the year. Ability to manage staff; direct, motivate and foster a positive team culture, leading by example. Ability to liaise and communicate with contract winemaking clients, contractors, and senior management. Ability to perform laboratory analyses, and interpret results, as well as maintain a high standard of record keeping and compliance. Commitment to sustainable practices and maintaining winery SWA certification. Responsible for OH&S compliance and ensuring that all work activities are carried out in accordance with company procedures and policies. Collaborate with sales and marketing with brand support. This may involve travel for promotional activities from time to time. Qualifications and experience Tertiary or equivalent degree in Winemaking/Oenology and broad winemaking experience in Australia and overseas preferred. A proven palate with familiarity of wines and wine styles from around the world. AWAC and/or show judging experience favourable. Ideally 5+ years in a winemaking role, with Vintage experience in 500t+ winery. General computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word and Teams. Responsible Service of Alcohol, Forklift License, First Aid, Confined Space Entry, and other qualifications both wine and non‑wine related. Applicants must have Australian citizenship/residency or a valid existing Australian work visa. Annual salary $80,000 + superannuation.
