About the Role Glen Innes District Hospital is seeking energetic and self‑motivated Assistants in Nursing (AINs) to join our team. You will gain valuable experience in both our Emergency Department (ED) and General Ward, providing exceptional person‑centred care under the guidance of Registered Nurses (RNs). You will receive thorough orientation and ongoing support from RNs, the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), and the Health Service Manager. Responsibilities Provide person‑centred nursing care to patients. Support RNs in the Emergency Department and general wards. Participate in patient care planning and advocate for individual needs. Assist with basic procedures and medication administration as directed. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality care. Qualifications and Requirements Certificate III – Assistant in Nursing, or currently enrolled in an undergraduate Registered Nursing degree (first year completed & first semester/trimester of second year), or enrolled in a TAFE NSW Diploma of Nursing (completed identified foundational units in practice AND 120 hours of clinical placement). Must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or New Zealand citizen with a current NZ passport. Permanent employment will require Australian citizenship or permanent residency; temporary visa holders may only be considered if no suitable local candidate is available. Will comply with NSW Health policy directive PD2023_022 concerning occupational assessment, screening, and vaccination.
