Overview Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is seeking a Senior Dietitian to join the Mental Health Service team at Nepean Mental Health Centre. The role provides inpatient nutrition assessment, intervention, and coordinated care for consumers in a mental health setting, and acts as a resource for staff, stakeholders, and families. Employment details Employment Type: Permanent Full Time Location: Nepean Mental Health Centre Position Classification: Dietitian Level 3 Remuneration: $116,892.00 - $120,680.00 per annum Hours per Week: 38 Requisition ID: REQ Application Close: 09/12/2025 What you will bring Must hold a bachelor or postgraduate degree in nutrition and dietetics that provides eligibility for full membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer. Possess specialist knowledge and extensive clinical experience in nutritional management of consumers with complex co-morbid mental health and physical health conditions in an acute setting. Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills in an environment of competing clinical/administrative demands. Demonstrated ability to provide clinical supervision and student teaching. Evidence of initiating and leading quality improvement projects and research, including implementing change to improve clinical care, services, and/or outcomes. Demonstrated evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills, including experience working closely with multidisciplinary teams. Current Driver’s License and willingness to use for work purpose travel. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive assessment, intervention, and coordinated care for inpatient consumers, ensuring nutritional support is tailored to individual needs and grounded in best practice. Serve as a key resource for mental health staff, stakeholders, and families/carers, offering expert consultation, support, and education to enhance care outcomes.
