Contract Details Fixed Term – 6 month contract (with possibility to extend) Part Time – 60.8 hours per fortnight Salary range – Managers and Administrative Worker Grade 2 / $66,768‑73,811.92 full‑time equivalent per annum (dependent on experience and hours) Location – St Kilda Road, Melbourne Staff benefits The Department Melanoma and Skin Cancer Trials (MASC Trials) is Australia and New Zealand’s collaborative trials group specialising in investigator‑initiated melanoma and skin cancer research. Working with leading researchers and institutions locally and around the globe, MASC Trials develops, conducts, and publishes research and clinical trials that improve melanoma and skin cancer outcomes. MASC Trials is a registered not for profit research organisation, and has an academic affiliation with Monash University, with a dedicated department supporting our research activities, the MASC Research Centre. The Role The Clinical Trial Assistant (CTA) will assist Clinical Research Associates and Clinical Data Managers with the coordination and data management of investigator‑initiated, multi‑centre, national and internationally recruiting, melanoma and skin cancer research, particularly clinical trials. The role requires sound administrative and organisational skills to coordinate and undertake a range of activities required in the support of MASC Trials studies and across our clinical trials portfolio on a day‑to‑day basis. The CTA will support the operational team and assist with day‑to‑day activities relating to clinical trial administration, such as drafting of trial documentation including social media posts, maintaining of records, contributing to regulatory submissions, supporting data cleaning and data validation and organising the shipment of biological samples. The role also includes ad‑hoc administrative support to all team members, such as data entry, maintaining and updating various tracking spreadsheets and databases, arranging meetings, taking minutes and updating memberships. Key Selection Criteria Essential Relevant undergraduate degree in health sciences or related field Previous experience in research administration or clinical trial experience Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite Accuracy and strong attention to detail Well‑developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and respect confidentiality at all times Willing to learn, flexible approach in dealing with change Desirable Experience with research databases such as REDCap will be highly regarded Experience working with health informatics, health systems and health services or equivalent technical experience in a comparative field Understanding of medical terminology, in particular oncology and melanoma treatments Benefits Salary Packaging Discount Health Insurance Onsite Gym Child care services How to Apply Please include your CV and a cover letter outlining your interest in working with MASC Trials.
