DESIGN, CONSTRUCT & MAINTAIN YOUR CAREER The primary purpose of this cadetship is to develop skills and knowledge of engineering principles and practices through university studies and within the workplace. Under the guidance of other engineering professionals, the cadetship will develop skills and knowledge to solve complex problems related to investigations, design, project management, construction and maintenance, asset management and other engineering activities. Key Accountabilities Apply engineering principles to support and manage the delivery of projects in line with Council’s strategic and operational objectives. Gaining experience in investigations, design, project management, construction and maintenance, asset management, operations, and other activities associated with the provision of engineering services in local government. Provide written reports on work related matters, manage up and ensure all project related documentation is produced to the required standards. Provide factual, timely and accurate advice/information and recommendations to council staff to facilitate decision making processes. Contribute to a positive safety culture within the team to ensure a safe workplace for our people by monitoring compliance with policies, procedures, legislation, specifications and any other documentation required for the successful delivery of projects. Evaluate and mitigate the impact of works on the public and initiate and encourage innovative work practices and procedures whilst maximising the utilisation of resources. This is a full-time positions that will provide you with invaluable experience in the construction industry and set you on a path towards a rewarding career in Planning, Design, Construction, and project management. This role is ideal for someone who is undertaking a graduate or is willing to kickstart their career to gain hands on experience within the Asset Planning and Quality business team.
