Peer Support Worker page is loaded## Peer Support Workerlocations: Wagga Wagga, New South Walestime type: Part timeposted on: Posted Todaytime left to apply: End Date: December 31, 2025 (28 days left to apply)job requisition id: JR-12538**Your role at St John of God Wagga Wagga**We are seeking applications for a **Peer Support Worker** to join our new Mental Health service in Wagga Wagga, on a permanent part-time basis.As a Peer Support Worker, you will provide invaluable empathetic support, guidance, and encouragement to veterans and first responders engaging with our services, drawing on your own journey of healing and resilience.You will join a dedicated, collaborative team in a purpose-built community setting, working within a recovery-oriented and trauma-informed model of care.**The Position*** Participate in a range of appropriate programs and activities aimed at increasing the individual’s skills, knowledge and improving access to required services in the community.* Provide the highest level of support for individuals supported and ensure each person supported is treated with respect that enhances their personal worth, dignity and rights, always.* Assist in achieving individual’s, team and service goals and objectives.* Seek ways of improving the service standards through working closely with clinical caregivers, managers and stakeholders.* Maintain a high level of service provision for all individuals and ensure the health, wellbeing and safety of all people is supported and staff are maintained.The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a peer worker and be capable of working independently or as part of a team, bringing strong initiative and resilience to manage competing demands and work under pressure.
