Financial Lines Facultative Broker

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Casualty Facultative Broking team at Guy Carpenter. This role will be based in the Sydney or Melbourne office. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. You’ll have a mix of client‑facing activities, technical risk assessment, market engagement and administrative activities to support effective reinsurance broking. Key responsibilities Create and maintain relationships with both clients and reinsurers Analyse risk and assist with developing solutions tailored to clients’ needs Respond to client queries and concerns promptly to maintain client satisfaction Support the design, development and marketing of new brokerage products and programs to win new projects Assist senior brokers on complex client assignments and keep updated records of progress and issues Monitor accounts including payments and collections, anticipating and preventing problems Draft policy contracts reflective of bound risk and book accounts within internal systems What you need to have Minimum 2‑3 years of experience in underwriting or broking Knowledge of reinsurance and casualty insurance is desirable Exceptional communication, influencing, and negotiation skills Ability to read and interpret Financial Lines policy wordings Experience communicating professionally and credibly with clients What makes you stand out Strong organisation skills and ability to prioritise in a fast‑paced environment Presentable, confident and professional manner to liaise with senior clients Interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients, team members, and senior management Why join our team Leading learning and development programs to support your career growth Professional environment where your career path really matters and is supported globally Great team environment with energetic and supportive colleagues Genuine work‑life balance Applications can be considered from candidates who have the appropriate approval to work in Australia.
