The Job Research, report, and produce interactive digital stories for ABC News platforms, apps, and social media. Generate ideas, research, and contribute to editorial discussions in deadline-driven teams. Stay current on news, expand contacts, and foster source networks. Create original public-interest journalism and enhance key story coverage. Contribute to both short-turnaround stories and longer-term editorial projects. Track emerging digital audience issues to shape innovative content. Foster creativity and excellence while reflecting Australia's diversity. Engage communities for relevant stories aligned with News strategy. Uphold ABC Values, policies, style guides, and editorial standards About You You are a strong communicator with a focus on teamwork, collaboration and open to feedback. You are able to manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines for both short and long-term projects. You’ll have : Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent skills and experience in digital journalism. Strong ability to generate original, impactful stories and contribute to editorial discussions. Skilled in pitching, researching, reporting, and producing accurate digital stories under deadlines. Experience as a creative storyteller in visual, interactive, data-driven, and multimedia formats. Ability to simplify complex info into clear, engaging digital journalism. Familiar with digital production tools, workflows, and platforms; eager to learn new skills. Understanding of audience needs, digital consumption, and engagement with visual / interactive content. Advantageous skills : data journalism, computational journalism, verification, info design. Proven ability to build and maintain contacts, including in diverse and underserved communities.
