Managing Consultant – Rail Sector Lead

We are recruiting a Rail Sector Lead on the back of sustained growth and ongoing delivery success with our clients .
To lead the growth of our rail sector focus consultancy business you will:Build client base and pipeline within the rail sectorBuild the ability of local team to deliver for the rail sectorInterface with AMCL’s rail sector experts in the UKBuild AMCL’s reputation for rail sector expertise within the APAC marketUse your knowledge and experience to consult with clients in finding solutions to challenges within the rail sector’s major projects and operationsSupport major capability transformation programs with our rail sector clientsLead the delivery of the Vertex Systems Engineering Services within the APAC market (Within the UK, for legacy reasons, our rail sector experts operate as Vertex Systems Engineering, which is the trading name of AMCL Systems Engineering Ltd. Within APAC we operate as one AMCL.):
Engineering & Safety AssuranceEngineering ManagementIndependent AssessmentProduct Approval & System DevelopmentProject RecoveryStandards & Process Development

Work with our Turner & Towsend colleagues who are focused on capital project set-up and delivery to ensure the value of AMCL / Vertex services are delivered to rail sector clients for whom they are working to deliver capital projects and programs.Qualifications
You will be externally focused, with proven capability in business development, client relationship development, developing the pitch (sales/ marketing), and commercial acumen.You will have a passion and drive to help clients solve problems, develop their capability, and get the best from their business. You will be inclined to see opportunity rather than risk, and pursue opportunity independently (with guidance and support) rather than needing others to provide.You will have no appetite for the mediocrity and monotony you may have experienced elsewhere. You will want to make your mark as part of a meritocracy, where you will be recognised for the difference YOU make.You will have a strong reputation and networks within the Australian rail sector, and the ability to leverage AMCL’s UK based rail sector pedigree to deliver to the APAC market. Your industry peers will respect your credentials and experience in:Implementing and embedding change within railway businesses;Operating and maintaining railway systems; andNavigating the regulation of railway businesses.You will consider yourself:A rail sector expert; withStrong consultancy skills; andAn understanding of Asset Management.Desirable attributes include:Externally focused, with proven capability in business development, client relationship development, developing the pitch (sales/ marketing), and commercial acumen.A successful track record of providing advisory consulting within rail infrastructure businesses.Degree Qualified in an Engineering discipline (or equivalent industry experience).At least 10 years of experience working with asset-intensive organisations.Experience such that you can operate effectively within a consulting business.General management function within the sector advisory practice.Demonstrable commitment to and skills for developing the performance of colleagues.Excellent stakeholder management, business networking and communication skills.Understanding of the regulatory environment specific to rail operators.Takes personal responsibility for work and colleagues’ work, ensuring it is always of a high standard.Willingness to commit the additional time and effort necessary during periods of heavy workload to deliver high-quality outputs, agreed milestones and deadlines.Additional Information
