Position: Head of Learning Area (Science) Start date: January 2026 Employment Status: Full‑time (in conjunction with a permanent teaching role) Salary: $106,135 – $144,259 (dependent on experience) Applications close: Monday, 1 December 2025 About the role Chanel College, Gladstone seeks a qualified educator for the acting middle leadership position of Head of Learning Area (Science). The role commences January 2026 and includes a permanent teaching role. We are looking for Established and aspiring leaders passionate about excellence in teaching, administration, professional conduct, relationships with parents and the wider school community, and a genuine interest in young people and their learning. Responsibilities Commitment to the ethos of Catholic Education. Develop and lead quality teaching and learning practices in science. Proactively engage with professional development opportunities to enhance quality pedagogy and student outcomes. Collaborate with the Leadership Team and staff to support the college’s growth and extra‑curricular life. Qualifications & requirements Relevant tertiary qualifications. Approved Queensland College of Teachers registration (or ability to obtain). Australian work rights. Benefits Competitive salary – Middle Leader Tier 3 ($106,135 – $144,259).
