Senior Software Engineer We’re partnering with a leading global technology business in the trading space to hire a Senior Software Engineer for a 6-month contract (with strong potential to extend). This role is based in Sydney, offering a hybrid setup – two days in the office per week. You’ll be joining a team that builds and supports high‑traffic, low‑latency distributed systems used around the clock across global markets. The focus is on backend development in C#/.NET, with occasional frontend work in React. What You’ll Do Design, build, and maintain C# RESTful APIs and microservices Enhance existing distributed systems supporting global operations Build and maintain automated tests (unit, integration, and functional) Contribute to frontend components in React where required Collaborate within a high‑performing engineering team and mentor junior developers Key Skills & Experience Strong experience with C#/.NET and building RESTful APIs Proven background in microservices and distributed system design Solid understanding of SQL (SQL Server, Oracle, or Postgres) Exposure to React or modern frontend frameworks Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, TeamCity, Octopus, etc.) Knowledge of event‑driven architecture, messaging (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.), and distributed caching (Redis, Memcached) Familiarity with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) Experience in high‑traffic or real‑time system environments Why Apply Work on mission‑critical systems in a dynamic, fast‑paced industry Join a collaborative, engineering‑driven culture that values innovation 6‑month initial contract with scope for extension Competitive day rate and flexible working arrangement (2 days in‑office) If you’re an experienced C# engineer who thrives in high‑performance environments and enjoys solving complex distributed systems challenges, we’d love to hear from you.
