Sport4All Inclusion Coach – NT Education Job Title: Sport4All Inclusion Coach – NT Education Organisation: Get Skilled Access(GSA) Employment: Fixed term 18 Months Reports to: Sport4All Manager – Northern Territory and Nth Qld GSA is searching for the following person: A person who has disability or lived connection to disability, Who has a great connection with their community, particularly within the education industry. Who is passionate and motivated to build the confidence of schools and education institutionsto include people with disability in all aspects of sport (playing and non-playing). Get Skilled Access designed and delivers the Sport4All program. About Sport4All - The Sport4All program has been commissioned and funded by the Federal Government to build inclusion capability in community and school sport across Australia. It employs local Inclusion Coaches to help sporting clubs and schools to be more accessible and inclusive for people with disability. Role Location - Greater Darwin region, working with education facilities throughout the Northern Territory. About the Inclusion Coach The ‘Inclusion Coach’ must be a person with disability and/or lived connection to disability who has been involved in sport as an educator, player, volunteer, or administrator. The Inclusion Coach will work across the Northern Territory to connect with all education sectors in the Northern Territory — including primary, secondary, and tertiary education, across public, private, and Catholic schools with the Sport4All resources and help them to complete the Sport4All training program. The Inclusion Coach will use their real-life disability experiences and the experiences of their network to build relationships with the schools, helping them to understand the purpose and the benefits and opportunities the program can bring. The Inclusion Coach will engage with Hospitals and Rehabilitation facilities to help provide connections for patients to sporting clubs. Responsibilities and Activities Connecting with schools and education facilities to engage with Sport4All You will understand the S4A program goals and work towards achieving these through working with local sporting clubs and schools. You will create a plan for contacting and keeping connections with sporting clubs and schools for reporting purposes. You will work to engage schools with the Sport4All training and resources, creating positive and successful relationships to bring them into the program. You will support schools to work through the Sport4All program. You will check in, assess, and support schools to create and deliver more inclusive sporting opportunities for people with disability. You will keep records and data up to date on which schools and educational facilities connect and complete the Sport4All Program. Your role will work on empowering sporting communities within your community to better include people with disability, including First Nations people, in sport. Working with the Sport4All team in Get Skilled Access: Connect and work with the Get Skilled Access Sport4All national team You will work in collaboration with Sport4All Inclusion Coaches across NT. You will contribute to Sport4All program meetings. You will understand the Sport4All program goals and work towards achieving these through working with schools & education facilities. Essential Skills, knowledge and qualities Ability to create strong relationships. Ability to use a range of communication types to connect with many different people and groups within the community. Communication skills in writing, public speaking/presenting and helping people or groups to better understand inclusion in sport. Passionate and motivated, with the ability to work independently and to be resourceful while working without always being told what to do. Ability to connect with teachers, leadership and other school staff. Will be organised and able to manage administration tasks, and have technology skills including setting meetings, emails, phone calls, recording data etc. Able to manage your time, to rank tasks in order of importance and complete all other responsibilities while also continuing to keep communication connections with schools, sports clubs, organisations, and any people or groups who have an interest or connection to Sport4All. Current Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card -employee) Holds or ability to hold, and maintain a satisfactory National Police Criminal History Check prior to appointment.
