CASUAL TUTORS – MATHEMATICS ACU is seeking expressions of interest to work as Casual Tutors in Mathematics in 2026, commencing in Semester 1. Multiple positions available in Sydney (Strathfield), Brisbane and Melbourne. EOIs welcome from applicants with advanced/postgraduate degrees in mathematics and/or cognate disciplines. Responsibilities Teaching small tutorials of students for mathematics units online or in-person (options available for Melbourne, Strathfield (Sydney) or Brisbane) Evaluating student work in assessment tasks, including marking student responses and examinations Liaising with Unit Leaders by email, online and/or in-person as required Preparing materials and lesson plans for classes/tutorials in consultation with Unit Leaders Requirements Advanced/postgraduate degree in mathematics or cognate discipline, e.g., econometrics, economics, physics, quantitative sciences / methods (preference for PhD awarded or near‑completion) Track record of teaching in a higher education environment preferred, as evidenced by student evaluations of teaching Excellent organisational and inter‑personal skills A track record in scholarly research publications will be valued highly Applicants should demonstrate awareness of the University's Mission and Catholic ethos and demonstrate an understanding of how this role serves the Mission Applicants should demonstrate commitment to cultural diversity and ethical practice principles and demonstrate knowledge of equal employment opportunity and workplace health and safety, appropriate to the level of the appointment Applications close: 31-MAR-2026 at 11:59pm AUS Eastern Standard Time How to Apply To lodge an expression of interest click the 'Apply' button and complete the online registration.
