Overview Our Women Up Front Trainee Bus Driver program offers you the support and training you need to become a licensed and confident bus driver. This includes: A friendly and supportive environment An extensive induction training program with a mix of classroom and on-road training Training to obtain a Heavy Rigid (HR) licence A 12-month training program (mix of classroom and on the job training) to gain a nationally recognised qualification (Certificate III in Driving Operations - Bus) Industry leading pay throughout your training You will be assigned a Buddy throughout the training process to support your development Depot Locations - North Fitzroy, Preston, Doncaster, Keysborough and Heatherton Responsibilities The program provides the training and development needed to become a licensed bus driver. Responsibilities during the program include participating in the induction, completing on-road and classroom training, and progressing through the 12-month training path toward the Certificate III in Driving Operations - Bus. Qualifications Excellent customer service skills and who enjoy working with people A current Australian Car driver’s licence (full licence held for at least 2 years) Willingness to have a pre-employment functional, drug and alcohol assessment Ability to obtain a Driver Accreditation and Working with Children Check Hold Australian work rights (Permanent Resident or Australian Citizen) Please note you must be available to attend an assessment centre from our North Fitzroy depot Benefits Employment with Australasia's leading mass transit bus operator Best base rate, penalties and allowances across the industry - $38.14 base rate per hour Full on-the-job training is offered to approved applicants Comprehensive Employee Assistance Program Including wellbeing, financial and nutritional coaching, counselling, and legal advice Secure employment with genuine career progression opportunities About Us As Australia and New Zealand’s largest and greenest bus operator, we bring passion and commitment to our important role in the community.
