WACHS Clinical Nurse Specialist – Community Mental Health Pool WA Country Health Service – Fitzroy Crossing WA Pool Details Permanent, Fixed Term and Casual appointments 76 hours per fortnight. 3.0 FTE available for immediate filling. Open-ended recruitment pool until 31/12/2026. Responsibilities Provide advanced community mental health services to clients of the Kimberley Mental Health and Drug Service Team. Conduct mental health and/or drug and alcohol (AOD) triage, assessment, risk assessment, crisis intervention, care‑management planning and implementation of care plans and referrals to clients and carers. Engage effectively with Aboriginal consumers, families and other stakeholders accessing mental health services. Work alone and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Qualifications Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. Demonstrated ability to apply recovery approaches to individuals, families and communities affected by mental health conditions. Advanced community mental health nursing skills including complex mental health condition assessment, risk assessment, crisis intervention and care coordination. Extensive recent experience in community‑based mental health nursing practice. Knowledge of medications used for mental health disorders and experience dispensing and administering such medication. Current knowledge of WA Mental Health Act 2014 legislative obligations. Proficient computer use and information systems relevant to the position. Current C‑Class driver's licence and willingness to travel including overnight stays away from home. Benefits Location allowance, annual travel allowance and an additional week of annual leave.
