The Anaesthetic department is growing and developing with the broader hospital and is accredited for 52 weeks of training with ANZCA. We receive accredited trainees from the NorthWestern rotation of the Victoria Anaesthetic Training Scheme and are also accredited for Provisional Fellowship with ANZCA. The department supports a busy elective and emergency surgical and perioperative service as well as obstetric and mental health units. We are seeking Specialist Anaesthetists to provide quality client‑focused care to patients, their families and carers, using a holistic approach. Role Overview The Specialist will be part of a multi‑disciplinary team, required to deliver a highly responsive and flexible service to consumers and carers. The role involves collaborating with medical teams, contributing to treatment planning, and delivering clinical guidance to optimise patient care and outcomes within the area of expertise. Additional responsibilities include a keen interest and proven background in Medical Education, Quality Assurance/Improvement and/or Clinical Research. Opportunities exist to undertake training and education of junior staff and to contribute significantly to service development. What You'll Bring Registered or registrable with AHPRA as a Specialist Anaesthetist FANZCA or equivalent certification Background in Medical Education, QA/QI & or clinical research Required Evidence Current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders Why Mercy Health?
