The Team: Come be a part of the Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS)CYMHS is in a period of significant growth that is increasing access to mental health care for Tasmanians. The Neurodevelopmental Assessment and Management Psychologist is a new role with scope to work across a variety of existing CYMHS programs delivering high-quality mental health assessments, interventions and outcomes for consumers and their communities. The role is part of a small unit based within the CYMHS Extended Programs, which include Out-of-Home Care Mental Health, Youth Forensic Mental Health and Youth Mental Health. The Role: The Allied Health Professional - Neurodevelopmental Assessment and Management (Occupational Therapist or Speech Pathologist) works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment undertaking a variety of evidence‑based assessments across multiple CYMHS program areas. The role works closely with stakeholders, including consumers and their care teams, to understand presenting issues and develop and deliver appropriate treatment options. The role may also work with other mental health professionals, service providers, or other partners on research projects and quality improvement initiatives. You will need: Two years post registration supervised experience in a clinical area directly applicable to Child and Youth Mental Health Services, with demonstrated experience and skill in providing assessment and case management to children and adolescents with significant mental health challenges. Demonstrated knowledge, experience and skill in either contemporary Occupational Therapy or Speech Pathology practice with children and adolescents, including evidence‑based assessments and therapeutic interventions. High level interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills including demonstrated experience in liaising effectively with other services and agencies in the context of providing either specialised Occupational Therapy or Speech Pathology mental health assessment, advice and training. An attractive relocation package is available. Details of appointment: Permanent full time day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Salary: $110,425 to $121,907 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022. Allowances: Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.
