BMM is looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer to join their team. This role requires an experienced mechanical engineer rather than just a ‘design house’ engineer, preferable to get in and represent the clients on a project, using technical engineering knowledge and experience on live projects to get the best results for the client's asset or project. The candidate will be involved in the end‑to‑end delivery of projects. Responsibilities Carrying out conceptual and detailed design across mechanical heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) services such as chilled water, cooling towers, air handling and heat recovery units Design layouts, select, and size mechanical HVAC plant and equipment Provide engineering input and technical project direction Undertake engineering calculations including air flow and heat loads Organise and oversee the installation, commissioning and testing of HVAC plant and equipment Assess and oversee maintenance of mechanical equipment and plant Develop specifications and other technical documentation Carry out site inspections throughout construction Prepare 2D and 3D plans using AutoCAD and Revit MEP General management of project obligations including liaison with stakeholders Assist with contract administration for suppliers, consultants and contractors, including contracting of services and preparation of tender documents; verification of all monthly supplier claims; finalisation of project costs; and performing inspections to verify submitted inspection and Test Plans Identify and reject defective service work Assist in co‑ordinating the testing, commissioning and handover process Maintain control of external documents and data used Required Experience 2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, in particular building services and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) Experience in the design, planning, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of HVAC services Experience working on projects within healthcare, laboratory, and commercial sectors Understanding of the Building Codes of Australia, and Australian Building Standards Bachelor's qualifications in engineering or related discipline About Company Barmco Mana McMurray are industry‑leading consultants.
