A transformation that needs the right architect. Full Time | 2 years fixed term | Hybrid role | ICT Department The City of Armadale is entering a decisive phase of its OneCouncil transformation. We have learned the lessons, strengthened the governance, and reset expectations and now we are bringing in a Program Architect to help us get this right. If you’re an architect who thrives on clarity, structure, quality, and lifting the maturity of complex programs, this role has your name on it. This is not a maintenance role. This is not a background role. Why this role matters We need an architect who can: Set and sustain design integrity across all modules Apply quality controls at each lifecycle stage Ensure decisions have authority, consistency, and traceability Reduce rework and operational risk through good architecture Prepare ICT to own, support and mature the new environment post go-live You will directly influence the technical direction, risk profile, and readiness of our ICT team for the additional functionality as the project moves into BAU. This is a rare opportunity to design something that will outlast the program. What you’ll lead Hold architectural oversight of solution design, integrations, data, environments, and technical controls Strengthen and embed governance across the program, ensuring the right decisions are made at the right time Shape release, testing and transition planning so that modules moving to production are stable, secure and fit for purpose Improve architectural discipline across build, design workshops, assurance gates and change acceptance Influence program-level decisions through structured analysis, risk assessment, and design recommendations Partner with ICT and the Program team to uplift capability and prepare the City for long-term sustainability This is a leadership role. It shapes the digital future of the organisation. Who you are You’re not just technically strong you think in systems, guardrails, dependencies and organisational impact. You may come from roles such as: Solution Architect Enterprise Architect Senior ERP/Platform Architect Integration Architect Senior Technical Lead who has been operating at an architectural level You bring: Strong architectural judgement Experience with complex or multi-stream programs Comfort balancing enterprise controls with practical delivery The ability to brief senior leaders and influence decisions A mindset grounded in quality, governance and sustainable design TechOne experience is highly regarded — but not essential.
