About The Role As a member of the Curriculum and Learning executive team the Director, Early Years Curriculum and Learning initiatives across the early years sector, from birth through to age 8. The position plays a pivotal role in shaping how young learners experience education and development during their critical formative years. Leading the development of the curriculum and learning aspects of the Early Years Learning Framework, ensuring alignment with national standards and best practice, this position is primarily focussed on curriculum and learning for preschools. The Director, Early Years Curriculum and Learning will influence the quality of early childhood education across the sector and support educators in their professional practice. About You Deep understanding of birth to age 8 curriculum and learning with proven early years leadership experience in creating high-performing teams and maintaining extensive professional networks. Demonstrated ability to apply flexible, innovative solutions while making decisions guided by public sector values and the best interests of children, young people, employees and the community. Proven capability in building capability in others, strengthening organisational learning, and communicating with empathy to inspire and empower diverse people. Essential Qualifications And Competencies An appropriate tertiary qualification including post-graduate qualifications in an appropriate discipline desirable or relevant experience. Experience leading in a large and complex organisation at an executive level, ensuring the translation of priorities into executed deliverables. Special Conditions The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.
