We offer a 9‑day fortnight working pattern, providing extended weekends every other week, along with flexible start and finish times and workspace options that trust you to get the job done. Key Competency Requirements Provide technical support services to Defence customers at various locations throughout Australia and/or overseas for short durations. Lead off‑site activities, managing Ultra Maritime technicians and sub‑contractors. Testing, maintaining, and diagnosing a wide range of electronic and electro‑mechanical hardware/equipment. Perform maintenance and upgrade tasks based on circuit diagrams, technical manuals and test procedures, respecting Delegation of Authority limits. Participate in tasks for electronic systems and sub‑assemblies, including: System and equipment condition assessment. System and equipment survey, overhaul and repair. Upgrades, set‑to‑work, alignment and performance optimisation. Install and remove systems and equipment. Use extensive knowledge of electronic components, general purpose test equipment and workshop skills. Identify and implement process improvements. Comply with legislation and company policies, including safety, duty of care and the quality management system. Adhere to approved work practices and ESD protection standards. Participate in designing, prototyping, testing and installing minor electronic developments. Respond to technical “Help Desk” enquiries, if required. Plan, monitor and report on electronic/electrical assembly production. Apply fault‑finding techniques and IPC standards (IPC‑A‑610, IPC/WHMA‑A‑620, IPC‑7711/IPC‑7722). Demonstrate knowledge of Electronic Warfare (SIGINT) and/or Anti‑Submarine Warfare domains. Use defence reporting tools and modern ERP systems such as IFS (desirable). Leverage PC and MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Project). Have previous experience in naval, land and air domains. Minimum five years’ industry experience supporting medium or small subsystems within a quality framework. Experience in circuits and wiring fault finding for PC and industrial computing bus systems (cPCI, VME). Field fault diagnosis and repair of electronics and electrical equipment. Show proven ability to adhere to company policy and ISO 9001 practices. Substantial technical experience in maintenance, repairs and modifications. Hold a formal qualification in Engineering (Diploma in Electronics and Communications or related) or relevant industry experience.
