Mexicali Bar y Taqueria is a lively rooftop restaurant located in beautiful Nobby Beach with a reputation for quality modern Mexican food, drinks and hospitality. About you: You're already a Head Chef, or experienced Sous Chef looking to step up . You'll have a passion for delivering fresh and delicious food to our guests and, ideally, extensive experience with Mexican cuisine. We’re looking for the following skills and attributes in the successful applicant: A passion for Mexican food At least 4 years experience as a Chef Team-focused, with at least 2 years experience in a leadership role with your previous kitchen team(s) Experience working in fast-paced and high-volume kitchens Advanced Food Safety and Compliance experience (qualifications would be advantageous) Computer savvy (i.e. Utilising existing set up company systems, ordering and emails) Reliable and trustworthy Meticulous approach to cooking and perfecting dishes Proactive approach to keeping the kitchen and kitchen areas organised and clean at all times. Great time management skills and work ethic Experience with rostering, ordering, stock control, food costing and liaising with suppliers A positive, collaborative approach to work and the rest of the team Ability to create new dishes for our menu Impeccable health and hygiene standards Availability to work a full-time roster Company perks: Great location and venue Well-established restaurant multi-venue business - we've been operating for over 11 years Joining a dedicated and enthusiastic team Freedom to be creative Significant opportunities for progression within the company as we look to expand to other areas of SEQ Please note: This is a full-time position and will require 40 hours per week, including nights and weekends.
