Toowoomba is a city in the Darling Downs region of southern Queensland, Australia. It is known for the Cobb & Co Museum, with its horse-drawn carriages. With two nearby national parks, Ravensbourne and Crow’s Nest National Park, there is plenty to do to enjoy the picturesque scenery. Toowoomba Motor Village is located only 3kms south of Toowoomba’s city center and offers a range of accommodation options including self-contained units, cabins and van sites. We are currently seeking a Casual Grounds & Maintenance Officer to join our friendly team. ABOUT THE ROLE Reporting into the Park Manager, you must be able to work autonomously or as part of a team. You will be responsible for the overall upkeep and improvement of our grounds and gardens, as well as general maintenance of our park. You must enjoy working around people and be able to communicate easily and confidently. You will take pride in your appearance, be self‑motivated, have an eye for detail, and a passion for maintenance. You are someone who has a friendly disposition, has a willingness to carry out various tasks as required and be available to be rostered over a 7‑day rotating roster including weekends (days/times will vary each week). The position will provide you with variety and a rewarding role. REQUIREMENTS The ideal candidate will have previous experience in property maintenance in a hospitality environment, and the successful applicant will require a current Drivers Licence. A relevant trade Qualification (highly regarded) or Handyman qualities. Ride on mowers. Hedge trimmers. Whipper snippers General residential maintenance Painting Plastering High powered hand tools. Assist with other minor maintenance items across our park and accommodation. Ensure general repairs and maintenance are maintained in a timely manner. Amenities / Common Area Cleaning The rate of pay for this role is based on the Hospitality General Award. For the right candidate, there may also be a requirement to perform on‑call duties 2 nights a week as part of the role, this will attract an additional allowance under the Award.
