About the role Reporting to the Superintendent – Contracts, the Contracts Advisor plays a key role in facilitating, negotiating, and enhancing the cost-effective procurement of goods and services at Northparkes Mines. This includes managing the full procure to pay cycle, supplier relationships, contract administration, and providing commercial advice to internal stakeholders. The role is critical in ensuring value for money, minimising business risk, and supporting the safe and reliable delivery of goods and services. Key responsibilities include: Leading contract negotiations and sourcing to deliver optimal commercial outcomes Developing and implementing procurement strategies and market engagement models Preparing and managing tender and contract documentation Evaluating supplier proposals and preparing award recommendations Administering contract processes including claims, variations, and performance reviews Managing supplier relationships and contract lifecycles Providing commercial and contractual advice to internal stakeholders Maintaining accurate contract records and registers About you The ideal candidate will have a business degree, engineering degree, law degree or equivalent, along with significant experience in contract negotiation and post-award contract management on projects for heavy earth moving, tailings storage facility construction or other mine expansion construction projects. You will bring a strong understanding of procurement processes, supplier relationship management, and risk mitigation—ideally within the mining, construction, or engineering sectors. Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office is essential, as is the ability to prepare and manage contract documentation using standard templates. You will be detail‑oriented, highly organised, and possess excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills. Your ability to manage competing priorities, analyse data, and provide strategic insights will make you a trusted advisor. Experience with contract lifecycle tools such as Open Windows or DocuSign is highly regarded, as is your commitment to collaboration and continuous improvement.
