Be among the first 25 applicants Direct message the job poster from Strategic Partners Australia One of our federal government clients is seeking to engage Solution/ Domain Architect for Canberra locations-hybrid working arrangements Please note Candidate must have Australian Citizenship with NV1 security clearance Extension term- 24 months Location of work- ACT Working arrangements- Hybrid Overview The Senior Solution and Domain Architects will be required to deliver against client’s technology design and quality assurance requirements including engagement in defined forums such as the Design Authority (DA), and the Architecture Review Board (ARB) to ensure that projects and operational initiatives have completed high‑level and detailed design documentation, along with any other documentation required of a specified body of work. Network, Application/Cloud, Infrastructure & Data domain specialists are required. Designs and develops scalable, efficient, secure, and cost-effective technical solutions to meet business infrastructure or functional needs. Researches and selects appropriate technologies, platforms and tools that best meet the project's requirements. Defines the interfaces and data flows between different systems and third‑party services so that each component works together. Creates technical documentation, architectural diagrams and specifications to guide development teams and communicate the solution architecture. Creates reference architectures including current and target states for each domain, such as landscape views, capability models and roadmaps. Coordinates teams during the implementation of the chosen solution, addresses technical challenges, and oversees that the designs are effectively realised. Produces design documentation within client’s defined templates, principles, and design guidance. i.e. High‑Level Design, Detailed Designs, Solution Overviews, Conceptual Architecture Documents, Product Assessments/Comparisons, undertake technical review of procurements and produce assessments and reports against defined criteria. Provides constructive feedback on the department’s architectural reference material and guidance, including non‑functional requirements used for technology procurement and extensible patterns. Proactively engages in established forums such as the Design Authority (DA), and the Architecture Review Board (ARB), and promotes the engagement in these forums with colleagues. Ensures designs are peer‑reviewed with relevant stakeholders and broadly consulted prior to requesting approval. Applicants must have a TOGAF or equivalent industry certification (or the ability to obtain one). Applicants should be able to demonstrate a range of technology certifications and/or study undertaken. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years working within the ICT industry. Minimum of 2 years producing solution architecture/system design documentation. Experience working on secure government systems. Experience working in complex ICT environments. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Minimum NV1 security clearance. Experience working in complex global ICT environments. Experience applying Information Security Manual (ISM) and Essential 8 controls through pragmatic design options. Experience with cloud computing and complex connectivity and integration patterns. Experience with a diverse range of technologies and mix of on‑site, private cloud, and SaaS technology, and the secure integration of these.
