The Primary Care and Community Health Unit consists of 9 centres that provide a range of services for children, young people and their families, adults, older people and their carers. Our services range from health promotion, prevention and early detection through to assessment, treatment and continuing care. Our staff work in partnership with schools, GPs, hospitals, non-government agencies and other organisations to provide care across our centres, in people’s homes, other community venues as well as virtual care (telehealth). Are you an enthusiastic and client focused Occupational Therapist who is passionate about supporting people to live safely, independently, and meaningfully in their community? Our Primary Community Health Centre currently has two Temporary Part Time positions available for experienced Occupational Therapists to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team. As an Occupational Therapist within our community health team, deliver comprehensive assessments, triage, and prioritisation following referral to the service. You will work collaboratively with clients, carers, families, and service providers to support functional independence, promote well-being, and reduce barriers to safe participation in daily life. Utilise your strong interpersonal skills and broad knowledge of resources, you will assist in identifying and addressing concerns of children and families with complex needs. What you will bring to the role Evidence of advanced clinical skills and demonstrated significant experience in the provision of occupational therapy services to children and their families. Demonstrated high level organisation and time management skills in an environment with competing clinical and administrative demands. Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes with other staff. Demonstrated experience in the provision of clinical supervision, mentoring and development of level 1/2 staff and students. Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including collaborative stakeholder consultation. Demonstrated ability to independently problem solve and set priorities in complex situations. Current driver's licence and willingness to use for work purposes. Current Authority to Practice as an Occupational Therapist with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). For more information, please find out more about applying for this position.
