4 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants Direct message the job poster from Freight Assist Australia Pty Ltd (FAA Group) National Finance & Administration Manager @ Freight Assist Australia Pty Ltd | Finance, HR, Compliance and Admin About the Role We are seeking an experienced National Linehaul Manager to lead and manage our national linehaul fleet across four depots, while also supporting local fleet operations in Victoria. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of linehaul operations, including driver coordination and ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of both company-owned and contracted vehicles. Working closely with depot managers, operations teams, maintenance providers, and the Compliance team, you will drive strong operational performance, cost control, and continuous improvement across the network. You will be accountable for delivering key safety and compliance KPIs, ensuring drivers operate in full compliance with NHVR standards, fatigue and mass requirements, Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations, and all FAA policies and procedures. A strong focus on audit readiness, risk management, and proactive safety leadership is essential for success in this role. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage national linehaul and road logistics operations in line with company strategy Organise and oversee drivers and fleet resources, ensuring compliance with NHVR, CoR, fatigue, mass, and vehicle safety requirements, and full adherence to FAA policies Own and deliver safety and compliance KPIs, working closely with the Compliance team to maintain audit readiness and proactive risk management Drive operational performance through effective route planning, fleet utilisation, and real-time issue resolution Provide commercial ownership of the road logistics P&L, with accountability for cost control, profitability, and performance Identify growth opportunities, increase turnover and margins, and develop customised logistics solutions for key customers Negotiate contracts and rates with customers, suppliers, and transport partners Lead national coordination of service communications, acting as the key escalation point for depots on linehaul delays and disruptions to ensure consistent messaging, service recovery, and SLA adherence Coach, Lead and develop teams to build strong leadership capability and a performance-driven, safety-first culture Collaborate with regional and corporate stakeholders to align operations with broader business strategy Note: Freight Assist Australia respects the right to disconnect; however, due to the nature of linehaul operations and the timing of linehaul departures, this role requires a level of availability outside standard business hours. You should be comfortable receiving and responding to driver and operational communications as required to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations. About You Proven transport and logistics professional who has worked their way up from the operational side of the industry Strong, practical understanding of road transport, linehaul operations, and day-to-day driver and fleet challenges Experience managing national or multi-site linehaul or road logistics operations In-depth knowledge of NHVR requirements, Chain of Responsibility, fatigue management, and safety compliance Demonstrated commercial acumen, including P&L ownership, cost control, and contract negotiation Confident leader with the ability to engage, coach, and influence drivers, depot teams, and senior stakeholders Strong communicator capable of managing complex operations across multiple depots Customer-focused mindset with the ability to build and maintain long-term partnerships Committed to fostering a safety-first, performance-driven culture Join FAA Ready to lead at a national level?
