Secondary School Teacher and Pastoral Care Coordinator We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate educator to serve as a Secondary School Teacher and Pastoral Care Coordinator. This role involves maintaining teaching responsibilities within the curriculum while providing specialised pastoral support to female students. Benefits & Task & Responsibilities Teaching Responsibilities Curriculum Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in accordance with curriculum requirements. Assessment and Reporting: Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and provide detailed progress reports. Classroom Management: Maintain positive learning environments that support student engagement and achievement and supervising work in class. Differentiation: Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs and abilities. Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional learning and stay current with educational best practices. Parent Communication: Communicate student progress to parents through work samples or assessments, students’ books and assessment and reflection folders each term, interviews and formal semester reports. Maintain regular contact with parents/guardians regarding student welfare and progress. Pastoral Care Duties Student Welfare & Support: Provide individual and group counselling support to female students experiencing academic, social, or personal challenges. Crisis Intervention: Respond to immediate pastoral care needs, including mental health concerns, family issues, and behavioural difficulties. Program Development: Design and implement pastoral care programs specifically addressing the needs of female students. Mentoring: Establish mentoring relationships with at‑risk students and coordinate peer support networks. Inter‑agency Liaison: Collaborate with external support services, counsellors, and community organisations as needed. Coordination and Leadership Program Coordination: Oversee girls‑specific initiatives, events, and support programs. Staff Collaboration: Work closely with teaching staff, counsellors, and administration to ensure holistic student support. Data Management: Maintain accurate records of student progress and pastoral care interventions. Policy Development: Contribute to the development of school policies related to student welfare and gender‑specific support. Community Engagement: Foster connections with parents, community groups, and external agencies. Qualification & Experience Essential Qualifications and Skills Bachelor's degree preferably in Education or relevant teaching qualification. At least three years of relevant teaching experience. Demonstrated experience in pastoral care, counselling, or student support roles. Strong understanding of adolescent development, particularly relating to female students. Excellent communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries. Well‑developed interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity. Flexibility and an ability to work collaboratively. Ability to work with a variety of IT software platforms. A commitment to the mission, vision, and core values of the College. Working with Children Check. Desirable Qualifications and Skills Experience working with diverse student populations. Training in mental health first aid or crisis intervention. Knowledge of child protection policies and procedures. Experience in programme development and coordination. Understanding of contemporary issues affecting young women.
