Checkbox is a VC-backed Australian technology start‑up entering our scale‑up phase following a successful Series A. We build automation and productivity solutions for Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, and Operational teams. With $10M revenue in 2025 and customers including Coca‑Cola and Macquarie Group, we are expanding our Sydney engineering hub and scaling our product architecture to support our growing application suite. We recently launched our AI‑powered Matter Management product, the "JIRA for lawyers," as part of our broader vision to become the core Legal Service Hub within organisations. Our culture is one of our strongest assets: The Role As a Staff Software Engineer, you will join a small, high‑impact team and contribute to building world‑class B2B SaaS products. You will work across the TypeScript ecosystem (Node, Express, React), Go services, and internal systems to design, build, and deliver innovative features used by legal teams around the world. You will drive technical quality, mentor engineers, influence architecture, and champion modern engineering practices including CI/CD, small batch delivery, automation, and continuous improvement.
